Dreamfields Project
Can you imagine what it feels like for township kids to
put on a new pair of soccer boots for the first time? How do think young players in small villages feel when
they take to the field, dressed like a real soccer team, for the very first time in their lives?
The Dreamfields Project was launched last October with the aim of using the growing soccer fever around
South Africa to inspire substantial investment in football, to benefit South Africa's urban and rural poor.
Dreamfields has three core products:
- DreamBags which cost R4 500 and consist of kit to equip an entire team - 15 sets of boots, shirts, shorts,
socks and shinpads; balls, whistles and so on; with sponsors logos on the bags and the shirts.
- DreamEvents, where we bring together schools for the presentation of DreamBags and the playing of a
tournament;
- and Dreamfields where partnerships are created to fund the fixing up of local fields for school
and community use.
